Special guests included Stephen Sondheim, Angela Lansbury, Cameron Mackintosh, Barry Manilow as well as performances by Alfie Boe, Kerry Ellis, Adrian Lester and a tribute to Phantom of the Opera with John Owen-Jones and Sierra Boggess. There were also performances from the nominated musicals: Legally Blonde, Love Story, Love Never Dies, Fela!, Into The Woods, Passion and Sweet Charity.
